The Professor has given my daughter back her mobility and made her pain free, could you ask for anything more? This wonderful man has a fantastic way with children and parents alike, always comforting and reassuring whilst providing enough detail at the right level to be informative and not scary! My praise is unreserved and unlimited. As a family, we can't thank him enough.

Thank you Mr Phil Chapman Sheath for giving me my life back. After partial knee replacement surgery at another Hampshire hospital I was left unable to walk or function. I was left in terrible pain, had to give up work. Mr Chapman Sheath took me under his wing and preformed a revision surgery. OMG!!! I can now walk have no pain and life is great thanks to this amazing man. I really cannot thank him enough. No more pain killers and I’m only 6 weeks post surgery. The staff throughout my experience at Southampton general hospital was second to none and I sincerely thank this amazing team for such dedication.

I saw Mr Phillip Chapman - Sheath for the first time in outpatients at The Spire in Southampton today . He was very approachable, very pleasant and knowledgeable. He didn’t make me feel I was wasting his time, because my knee was much better. Why can’t all Drs and Consultants be like Mr P CS. Lovely man and smiles a lot Thank you so much. Helen Clinkard

After my first knee replacement operation I didn't think the implant was stable. After 9 months I still had a lot of pain and swelling and didn't really trust it. I spoke to my consultant and the physiotherapist on a number of occasions in that time and finally plucked up the courage to say how unhappy I was with the whole situation. Despite being told there was nothing wrong and everything was just fine (and more to keep me quiet I think) it was arranged for me to see Mr Chapman Sheath to get the opinion of another surgeon. Within a couple of minutes of my first consultation with and for the first time in almost a year I felt someone was actually listening to my concerns. After a very brief examination of my knee Mr Chapman-Sheath confirmed it was unstable/out of alignment and that I would either have to live with it or have a revision operation. He explained fully about the risks and possible rewards. He told me exactly what the second operation would mean to my mobility etc including a longer recovery but that it would at least be stable. He was at all times caring, concerned that I fully understood all about what he was thinking of doing and left the decision with me. He was very considerate about my concerns, always honest about the possible outcome and I just wish I had had him as my original Consultant. I cannot praise this man highly enough. He listened to me when I had reached the point where I was wishing I had never had the operation to start with. The aftercare I received from him and his team has also been of the highest standard.
